Coded Nature grew out of a residency at LUMA Arles, where the studio began writing generative rules that mimic the branching logic of coral, roots and lightning. The new wing gives that research a permanent room for the first time.
Visitors can watch a live-generated pattern grow across a suspended steel lattice, recalculated every few minutes by an onsite algorithm responding to the building’s real-time energy output — tying the piece directly to the museum’s net-positive systems.
